The story behind FaxPal

Sooo, why Faxes? Funny story. FaxPal was born because my book club in Trondheim realized that trying to coordinate meetups, share updates, and generally just keep in touch felt… off using typical instant messaging. We were looking for a way to connect that didn’t get lost in the digital noise, something that felt more deliberate. We even tried snail mail for a while, which was cool, but eventually, that felt more formal, almost like work.

When I finished up at NTNU and had to leave my student town, I realized I really wanted to keep in touch with my best pals, the ones who made Trondheim home. That’s when I thought, ‘Why not give this Fax thing a proper go for long-distance relationships?’ It’s genuinely fun having this special, almostlong-range walkie-talkie kind of vibe to share real messages and stay connected. I figured if it worked for us, maybe others would dig it too.
